Meet Our Leadership Team

Robert Scruggs founded SDI in 1996 responding to the need for quality painters both in commercial and residential markets.Year of experience painting in the residential market as well as time spent as a member of the SSPC (Steel Structure Painting Council) honed his skills.

In 2004, SDI added Scott Erkelens, as a managing partner. Scott brought in extensive experience in metal stud framing and drywall applications. Together they have a crew of seasoned tradesmen who have worked together for many years. SDI is licensed, insured, and bonded. Our team brings a deep bench of skills and expertise to this work.

Commercial Services

SDI provides valuable services to General Contractors, including metal framing, board hanging, taping, door hanging, interior/exterior painting, and specialty panel installation including FRP board, slatwall and Trusscore panels. In addition to these core services, we’re able to offer custom add-ons to complete the project. Our responsive team is ready to meet your busy demands and ensure project success.

Residential Services

SDI is a good friend to homeowners. We take care to learn about your needs-- your budget, your timeline, and your preferences. Our painters are both efficient and neat. SDI does new painting, repaints, interior and exterior painting and Dryvit repairs. Available for extensive and smaller jobs.
